Host a Fundraiser

The AIDS Committee of Windsor and AIDS Support Chatham-Kent has hosted dozens of fundraisers over the last few years, working actively with local community leaders. These fundraisers are a key part of our organization and are essential to maintaining quality in our service offerings.

You can be an active ambassador of our cause in your community by hosting your own third-party events for or by turning one of your current events into a fundraiser. A third-party event is any fundraising initiative created, executed and managed by someone external to our organizations, where the proceeds for the event are donated to our charity. Since we are the primary beneficiary of the event, we employ all of our resources to ensure it is a success. Our resources have a vast reach across the community and include the following areas of expertise:

Event Planning:
- Provide information on rules and regulations for tax receipts
- Budget consulting and template design
- Lottery license for events donating 100% of proceeds
- Event checklist provided to assist with planning
- Provide pledge sheets for donations

Marketing Resources:
- Promotional poster design and distribution
- Newsletter distribution
- Event promotion via our website and Facebook fan page

Publicity:
- Use of AIDS Committee Windsor or AIDS Support Chatham Kent banners and signage
- Cheque presentation photos

Many community groups often plan fun events to help raise money to improve healthcare in Windsor and Chatham-Kent. We ask that you please choose the AIDS Committee of Windsor and AIDS Support Chatham-Kent as your cause. The following is a list of some events that have helped our organization in the past:

In The Workplace: staff draws, silent auctions, donation boxes, sport events and tournaments, and Jeans Day (pay $5.00 to wear jeans to work).

In The Community: auctions, dinner parties, dances, bake sales, community or private yard sales, community or private BBQ, car wash,
arts and crafts auction, chili cook offs, walk-a-thon’s, sporting events, shopping mall Christmas gift wrapping and celebrity dunk tanks.

Third Party Fundraisers are a very important component of our activities at the AIDS Committee of Windsor and AIDS Support Chatham-Kent.  These events help create awareness about our programs and services and bring new supporters to the organization.
