Support Services

Overview

Our Support Services  offers structured interventions and guidance geared towards Persons Living with HIV/AIDS (PHAs) and those affected in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent. We offer the following:

  • Case Management (ex. advocacy, referrals)
  • Practical Assistance (ex. transportation)
  • Food & Nutrition
  • Social Programming

9:00am – 5:00pm

By appointment only

Food security package drop-offs

Accessed on a case-by-case basis

Monthly distribution

Key Activities

Activities offered through Support Services varies from year to year and depends on population specific needs and the availability of resources. For this fiscal year, the following are available:

Case Management

  • Client Accompaniment to medical appointments
  • Community partner referrals (ex. primary care physicians, food banks)
  • Adherence to medication regimes
  • Wellness checks
  • Assistance with government forms

Practical Assistance

  • Emergency loan and financial assistance
  • Health and wellness presentations for PHAs and their families
  • Transportation support
  • Educational workshops/presentations
  • Complementary therapies

Food & Nutrition

  • Food package drop-off (Available on a case by case basis)
  • Distribution of Ensure (meal replacement shakes)*
  • Christmas and Thanksgiving dinner for PHAs in Windsor and Chatham
  • Distribution of Goodfellow boxes (Christmas)

Social Programming

  • Peer-led social events
  • Camp Wendake
  • Opening Doors
  • World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil

*Based on physician recommendation and availability
